Tinitus
After hearing a high pitched sound, some people may still hear the noise long after the external source disappears. The noise can come either from the inner ear, outer ear, middle ear or inside the sufferer’s head. This ear ringing is a condition called tinitus. About 50 million Americans suffer from this condition and about 2 million experience a severe form which hinders their day to day routines.
Tinnitus could be a normal experience, but it could also be deadly. In very rare cases, ringing in the ears could be a symptom to acoustic tumor or brain tumor and other fatal illnesses. You do not want to risk your life for this, and so you must immediately consult a doctor if tinnitus persists. Doctors can evaluate the cause of your ear ringing and could recommend various options for tinnitus treatment. While there are no definitive cures for tinnitus, doctors can still recommend you some medication and other treatment methods to get rid of ringing of the ears.
